Last year the Centre partnered with six Australian based clients on their events and aims to build on this momentum this year. The Centre hosted the Australian High Commission’s Australia Day Reception 2017, 5th International Secondary Lead Conference 2017, 17th Asian Battery Conference (ABC) 2017, Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) Networking Cocktail Reception, The University of Melbourne’s Malaysia Regional Office pre-departure briefing and Esri Malaysia User Conference 2017.

The Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, commented “AIME provides an ideal platform to continue our engagement with clients, many of whom, are Australian-based and have continued to return to the Centre for many years.”

Speaking after the successful hosting of their first event at the Centre, Regional Events Manager, Esri Australia & Esri South Asia Groups, Josie Sinni, shared, “I would like to thank the staff who handled our event, I was truly impressed by their professionalism, efficiency and their willingness to help, it’s very rare to come across a team that is so dedicated.”

Pryor added, “As part of the AEG Ogden family we have a very special and longstanding relationship with Australia and our sister venues. We collaborate on knowledge exchange and best practice models which is invaluable when dealing with our clients and understanding cultural nuances. These relationships build the capability of our team to deliver customised experiences and further develop our flexible mind-set. We are very passionate about embracing diversity and delivering Malaysian hospitality and service excellence that differentiates our business events experience.”

Upcoming and new developments unfolding include the Centre’s expansion, due for completion in mid-2019. The extension will provide an additional 11,000 sqm of flexible and multi-purpose space, which means more room to comfortably accommodate larger exhibitions and international association meetings, as well as concurrent events, and the opportunity for many current clients to grow their activities and events significantly.

In addition, the Centre’s strategic location and precinct proposition remain a powerful differentiator and the venue has enhanced this further through the establishment of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Business Events Alliance (KLCC BEA). A powerful collective of the Centre, leading hotels, professional event planners, shopping, dining, entertainment and transportation partners, each customising their value-adds to the nature of the client request.

Pryor concluded, “The KLCC BEA is one of our most recent initiatives the Australian market should be looking to take advantage of. It is aimed at enhancing the client journey by offering a seamless and single point of first contact for Meeting Planners and Event Organisers. Targeted at creating enhanced value for clients and delegates, the KLCC BEA is well placed to provide Australian Meeting Planners and Event Organisers with a premier one-stop solution.”

The Centre looks forward to welcoming AIME visitors to BOOTH 2110. Visit the booth to learn more about the fantastic value proposition the Centre represents and to engage on customer needs that reflect client centric solutions. Come and engage to meet your perfect business events partner.
