Essential could launch the long-awaited Ocean Depths – a combination of blue and green – colour variant of the Essential Phone (PH-1) on February 15.

“A new wave is coming,” reads a cryptic save-the-date teaser shared on the firm’s official Twitter account on Monday – leading us to believe that the ocean-inspired hue is at long last on the way, following its announcement alongside the standard Black Moon, Pure White and Stellar Grey variants back in May 2017.

There is, of course, a chance that Essential is hinting at something else in the tweet, but it’s a slim one. The startup posted disappointing sales figures for 2017, shipping a total of 88,000 units, so it’ll be looking for a quick way to draw in additional customers – and a new colour variant is a sure fire way of doing just that.
