‘Daas Dev’ trailer: Sudhir Mishra’s modern day ‘Devdas’ is all about love, politics and lust

The maker of upcoming movie ‘Daas Dev’ unveiled the trailer of the movie, The film stars Rahul Bhatt as Dev, Richa Chadha as Paro & Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni.The trailer showcase love, hate, lust and politics among the characters. Sudhir Mishra has given an unusual twist to traditional Devdas story.

Though the film is the reverse journey of classic romantic drama Devdas, the director Sudhir Mishra known for his unconventional way of filmmaking, he released trailer on the most romantic day of the year. The film follows a path contrary to the plot of the classic novel Devdas. But is a fiercely political film that talks about the protagonist’s addiction.

Sudhir Mishra is known for his movies like “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi”, “Dharavi”, “Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin” and “Chameli”. In a recent interview to IANS Mishra was asked if he felt any difficulty in twisting the story from the original novel “Devdas” by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhaya for his movie.

He said: “No, not really. Scripting a film is never tough. In fact, it is the most interesting process for me. While writing a script, I discover many things about myself. At times, it is scary also. But overall, it is interesting.”
