Bollywood director Sudhir Mishra, who has impressed us with unconventional films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Dharavi and Chameli, is all set to entertain us again with a hard-hitting tale – Daas Dev. The makers of the political-drama just released the trailer and we must say it has all the makings of a trademark Sudhir Mishra film. It is a take on the classic novel, Devdas, but is quite the opposite. The plot of the film is set in Uttar Pradesh.
Talking about the lead characters of the film, Rahul Bhatt, who plays Daas Dev, is not addicted to alcohol and Paro but wants power and position in his political career. Richa Chadha, who plays Paro, is not innocent and weak. In fact, she is one of the boldest characters in the film. Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays Chandni, bears a slight resemblance to Chandramukhi’s character but has her own style and element. Apart from the lead cast, the film also has a stupendous supporting cast which includes the likes of Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Vineet Singh, Dalip Tahil, Anurag Kashyap and Deepraj Rana. Daas Dev has changed its release date twice to avert a clash with Aiyaary and Hate Story 4 at the box office. The film will finally hit the screens on March 23 and will lock horns with Rani Mukerji’s Hichki at the ticket windows. The film is produced by Sanjeev Kumar, Saptarishi Cinevision and presented by Gaurav Sharma and Storm Pictures. Anyway, did you like the trailer of the film?
