Orange leads Spanish Netflix speed ranking

Wednesday 14 February 2018 | 15:46 CET | News

Orange has taken over from Vodafone at the top of the Spanish ISP speed index published by Netflix, delivering an average prime time speed of 4 Mbps in December, just ahead of its Jazztel subsidiary with 3.95 Mbps. Vodafone came in third with 3.76 Mbps, followed by Euskaltel, Vodafone’s own Ono brand and Masmovil with 3.67 Mbps, 3.64 Mbps and 3.57 Mbps respectively. Telefonica again ranked in 10th and last place in the ranking of prime-time Netflix performance with a speed of 2.46 Mbps.

Netflix has peering agreements in place with the majority of Spain’s ISPs and reached the milestone of 1 million subscribers in the second quarter of 2017 after once again doubling its customer base in the first 6 months of the year.
