Spyro The Dragon remaster trilogy is in the works – report

Vicarious Visions is reportedly working on a remastered Spyro The Dragon Trilogy, coming exclusively to PS4 in 2018.
According to a report from Kotaku UK, the remaster is in development for PS4 and will have a year’s exclusivity before coming to other platforms.
Sources speaking to Kotaku UK believe the remastered trilogy will launch in September 2018, which just about lines up with Spyro’s 20th anniversary. The reveal announcement will come in March.
After the runaway success of Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy, it’s no surprise that the developer has decided to revive similar platforming greats.

The collection will contain Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon. Having all originally launched on PS1, each title will be remastered with new visuals, audio, trophies and more.
A recent marketing manual also suggested that the N.Sane Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch, so it seems Spyro will follow a similar window of exclusivity for Sony’s platform.
It’ll also be interesting to see if Crash Bandicoot’s rumoured PS4 outing emerges alongside the predicted announcement of Spyro’s remaster.
