South Indian actress, Priya Prakash Varrier, who’s making her big screen debut in an upcoming Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love took the digital world by storm after a video from the film went viral, where she is seen winking, smiling and flirting with her classmate, essayed by co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi. The 18-year-old actress is indeed very overwhelmed with the fame coming her way. The actress spoke at great length with WION about her debut film, her co-stars, being nation’s latest obsession and her dreams of working in Bollywood. Life has indeed changed overnight for the actress. “I am still unsure of how to handle the fame,” she told WION.
Priya who is pursuing FY BCom told the leading entertainment portal that although her parents and friends are happy with her sudden popularity, they stated that they don’t want her to discontinue her education. When she was asked about the legendary moment that got her the sudden popularity, she said that the director, Omar Lulu, had asked her to do something cute and improvise and what she did in return was wink. She is reportedly well aware that the viral video has raised the expectations of the people for the film, which has made her a bit scared for the film. What many don’t know about her is that her favourite actors are Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh and that she would love to do a Bollywood film someday. “Ask her about it and she says, “Why not? If the offer is good I’d love to.”And which actors would be on her wishlist, we asked. “Ranveer Singh, SRK, and Sidharth Malhotra,”Priya answered shyly. Priya thanked her fans for all the love and support, they’re showering her way for her debut film. Many may have been of the opinion, that the girl who has the entire country crushing on her may already have someone special in her life but Priya thwarts all these expectations saying that she is very much single. “I study in a girls college, so there are no possibilities of an high-school romance. I have had lots of crushes, but nothing serious,” she said, adding that she wants her “ideal man to be chivalrous” and the perfect date to be a “candle night dinner for sure”.
