Orange Spain has confirmed that it will be launching a mobile banking service in the second half of 2019, following the lead of its French parent. In a statement the operator said the project will be headed by Narciso Perales, currently director of digital transformation at Spain’s Bankinter, with Orange Spain’s director of innovation and mobile banking Luis Santos appointed as chief customer officer. Perales previously worked as engagement manager at management consultancy firm McKinsey and will be tasked with replicating the success of the French venture, which attracted more than 50,000 customers in its first two months.
