Equitas Bank rolls out digital savings a/c

Chennai, February 14

Equitas Small Finance Bank has introduced ‘selfeSavings’, an interactive digital savings account.

This account can be opened with the web-based interactive video form hosted on www.equitasbank.com by using Aadhaar number, PAN and other basic details. Customers can set up a mobile banking PIN and start using their account instantly, according to a statement.

“The interactive account has been developed to engage with the millennials. This will be a standalone acquisition channel,” said Sanjeev Srivastava, President and Country Head - Branch Banking, Liabilities, Products and Wealth Management, Equitas Small Finance Bank.

The new selfeSavings account has no minimum balance requirement. It pays an interest rate of 6 per cent per annum for balance below ₹10 lakh and 6.5 per cent for ₹10 lakh and above.

The account will also allow customers to make online money transfers for free (IMPS, NEFT and RTGS) and comes with a virtual Visa debit card that can be used to shop online.

Customers can deposit money into their selfeSavings account via debit card, net banking or wallets.
