Prithviraj Chavan addressing a press conference in Agartala, Tripura on Wednesday
Chavan was speaking to reporters during a press conference here. He said that the BJP has majority in the Lok Sabha but they don't have the majority in the Rajya Sabha and if they get the majority in the Rajya Sabha they may change the constitution.
He said that the Tripura polls this time would be considered as foundation stone for the national politics and appealed the voters not to give the BJP chance to enter Tripura.
He also slammed the Left Front government, accusing them of behaving like a dictator in the state. He said that both the CPIM and the BJP are ruling like dictators. "It would be like removing one dictator by giving power to another, if the BJp was voted to power in the state," he said.
He urged the voters to bring the Congress to power in Tripura. "During the UPA regime the country was on the path of economic development but when the NDA government came to power, they only changed the names of different central projects," he said.
Chavan said that the BJP's vision document is just a "Jumla' as they have reneged on their promises made during 2014 general elections.
"The BJP is in power since 4 years but they have failed to fulfill any single promise made during the 2014 general elections," he said.
He claimed that it's only the Congress who can maintain the diversity, development and peace in the country.
