In the recently held 9th Popular Tiatr Competition, organised by the Tiatr Academy of Goa, the tiatr ‘Hanv Jikhlom’ written and directed by Alexin de Morjim bagged the 1st place for performance while the tiatrs, ‘Tumi Sangat’ written and directed by comedian Sally and ‘Hanv anik Tum’ written and directed by Comedian Ambe bagged the second and third place respectively.
The Awards were presented by chief guest, Pandurang Phaldesai who was member secretary of Kala Academy previously, along with Gurudas Pilarnekar from the Directorate of Art and Culture Department. A special awards presentation ceremony was held on February 8 at Art & Culture Department in the presence of president, TAG, Agostinho Temudo, vice president, TAG, William Fernandes and member secretary, TAG, Cezar D’Mello. The competition was judged by two noted tiatr personalities namely Joe Rose and Menino Araujo.
President of TAG, Agostinho Temudo welcomed the guests. Speaking on the occasion Pandurang Faldesai congratulated the winners and participants of the competitions. A musical programme was presented by Aniceto Lourenco and his group. Vice-president of TAG, William Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. The function was compered by Cosma Fernandes.
