The Indian Coast Guard on Tuesday apprehended seven Pakistani nationals for venturing into Indian waters off Jakhau coast in Gujarat from Arabian Sea.
According to an official spokesperson, Indian Coast Guard ship Meeraben intercepted a boat 'Al-Hilal' that was found to be "operating illegally in Indian waters". When the coast guard intercepted the boat, it found seven Pakistani nationals on board.
"All the seven were apprehended immediately and were now being brought to Jakhau port for further interrogation," the official said.
In the last three months, more than 20 Pakistani nationals have been nabbed in a similar fashion. Six Pakistani fishermen were apprehended by ICG personnel for crossing international maritime border in December 2017, while in November, 15 Pakistanis were held with two boats.
