BJP defends Parrikar, slams Girish

| Feb 14, 2018, 03:02 IST
Panaji: The Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday attacked All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Girish Chodankar for his statement against chief minister Manohar Parrikar. The party said it appeared that Chodankar had ‘lost his mental balance’.

“BJP advices him to get medical attention as early as possible,” president of the saffron party’s North Goa district committee, Hemant Golatkar said. On February 9, Parrikar has said he had begun to fear as even girls were drinking beer, to which Chodankar had said, “Manohar Parrikar calls himself an IITian. He should know any effects of alcohol are gender-neutral and no law can ban only girls from drinking beer. Such statements show his obsolete and traditional mindset.”
