Want to Avoid the Latest Snapchat Update? Here’s Why You Probably Shouldn’tby

Anyone who uses photo and video-sharing platform Snapchat will likely already be aware that big changes have been rolled out relating to their user interface – meaning that facets such as the Stories feature have now been shuffled to a different section, leading users to need to learn an entirely new UI from the beginning – something which really isn’t going down too well at all. Snapchat’s support service has been inundated with complaints, and one look at their support Twitter will tell you that dismay with recent changes is far from on the way out. While it remains to be seen whether or not the brand will revert to old standards in an effort to appease their most frequent users, those who are desperate to return to the old style Snapchat are being encouraged to avoid doing anything too hasty.

By hasty, we of course mean either finding an old version of the software to download through third party means, or by avoiding the updates altogether. Snapchat have issued a statement advising that there are no old versions of the platform available for download – meaning that users are effectively going to need to make do with what they have – and this also means that any downloads reporting to offer otherwise will likely be tricking you into a scam. Stay well away!

Beyond this, if you’ve yet to update your version of Snapchat but have been paying attention to all the negative press surrounding recent changes, you may well be tempted to avoid updating altogether. This, too, is hardly recommended. It’s been advised by experts that avoiding app updates in general is extremely dangerous – as most updates rolled out will cater to bug fixes and security updates – meaning it is more than recommended that you try to adapt to the new software above all else. Avoiding software updates can be hazardous – and while the new version of Snapchat may not be to everyone’s tastes, it goes without saying that it is never worth risking the safety of your device.

Snapchat has been through a number of changes over the years and this latest alteration seems to be among the most controversial – but who’s to say, in time, whether or not certain features will be reversed? Keep using the app if you love it – but don’t risk leaving your phone open to attack for the sake of reverting to an older version.
