Dole expands chopped salad kit line

Dole Food Co. is capitalizing on growing demand for its chopped salads and increased customer preference for Greek-inspired flavors with the launch of the Dole Greek Chopped Salad Kit, now shipping nationwide.

The new SKU offers shoppers a restaurant-caliber experience by combining bite-sized Romaine lettuce, feta cheese and sweet onion pita chips with herb oregano seasoning and Dole’s Own Greek Vinaigrette dressing. It becomes the 10th offering in the Dole Chopped Salad Kit line and 17th Dole salad kit overall.

“The new Dole Chopped Greek Kit represents the next step in two simultaneous consumer salad trends: the growth of Greek and the overwhelming public preference for chopped,” said Lisa Overman, Dole director of marketing. “It also allows retail produce managers to build-out their Dole Chopped Salads set with a proven, on-trend flavor that has grown 52 percent in annual sales from 2010 to 2017.”

The suggested retail price of the Dole Greek Chopped Salad Kit is $3.99, equivalent to Dole’s other salad kits.
