It has been a busy couple of weeks for GNR Technology with the distributor making a couple of vendor signings and acquiring QBS Software.
The addition of QBS Software, for an undisclosed sum, will add some muscle on the software support side of the business.
It also gives GNR more of a presence in the UK market acquiring a firm that distributes more than 220 software publishers, has a base in London, a £30m turnover and 40 staff.

“The acquisition of QBS provides a major growth opportunity for both businesses. With a full range of high profile publishers, the acquisition of QBS supports our shared plans to meet increasing demand across the business, as well as offering more services to new partners.” Dave Stevinson, managing director at GNR.
“Likewise the services we bring to the relationship will enable us to deliver on our ambitions to create one of the most efficient and effective software delivery models in the channel," he added.
Both GNR and QBS will continue to trade as separate companies under their own names.
The QBS move comes in the wake of GNR signing up more vendors to give itself a wider portfolio as it looks to establish itself as a key player in the channel.
In the last couple of weeks the firm has been signed up as a retail distributor for Panda Security and landing an agreement with U-Reach.
The Panda relationship adds to one already struck with Kaspersky Labs and gives GNR a growing cyber security portfolio.
GNR will carry the full range of Panda's retail products including Antivirus Pro, Internet Security and Global Protection
U-Reach operates in the data duplication market and Stevinson said that it would appeal to those looking for digital media data testing, duplication and sanitisation.
