B V Rama Gopal Takes Over As Director (Refineries) At Indian Oil Corp

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the country’s largest fuel retailer, today announced B V Rama Gopal has taken over as Director (Refineries) on the Board of the company with effect from February 12, 2018. He was earlier serving as Executive Director (In-Charge) of the company’s Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Odisha.

“Rama Gopal joins the IndianOil Board at a time when the company has charted an exciting growth trajectory for its Refineries division with mega projects of over Rs 70,000 crore under execution over the next three years,” IOC said in a statement.

The main projects include upgradation of major units at group refineries for rollout of BS-VI grade fuel in Delhi by April 2018, NCR by April 2019 and all-India by April 2020; capacity expansion of Barauni refinery from 6 MTPA to 9 MTPA, Gujarat refinery from 13.7 MTPA to 18 MTPA and Panipat refinery capacity expansion from 15 MTPA to 25 MTPA.

The company said Gopal will also spearhead the completion of major projects of Polypropylene Unit & Petcoke at the Paradip refinery, INDMAX project at Bongaigaon refinery, rolling out of Ethylene Glycol Project at Paradip refinery and Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at Dumad unit in Gujarat.
