THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has alleged that violence taking place in Kannur is having a silent consent of the State government. The heinous killing of Congress leader T H Shuhaib is part of CPM’s attempt to make Kerala a war land by spreading CPM-BJP rivalry to Congress also.

“Even after the prevailing local issues came to the notice of police, they didn’t raise a finger. There were extensive attacks against RMP workers the other day. Kerala has again slipped into years of bloodbaths. 22 persons died in political killings ever since the Left government came to power two years ago. Police’ hands are kept tied. They are not able to take strong action against offenders. All those who believe in democracy should come forward against CPM’s killer politics,” Chandy requested.
