Mumbai: Two bikers killed in road crash, tempo driver arrested

Mumbai: Two motorcyclists died in a midnight road crash on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The police said the motorcyclist dashed into a milk van while negotiating a turn at a junction near Veer Savarkar Road. Both the bikers Vedant Narvekar (21) and Manish Thakur (22) fell down on the road and got injured. The passersby informed Mumbai police control room and immediately a team from Dadar police station reached on the spot.

“Both of them were coming from Shivaji Park and the milk van was taking right turn from Worli. The accident took place at the junction. They duo were taken to nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. The accident took place at 1:15am on Sunday,” said an officer from Dadar police station. The police found their identity cards from their wallet and informed their parents. The police have arrested the milk van driver Jayram Ramsahay Yadav (40) who had fled after the accident. The driver has been booked for rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
