In a disturbing incident reported from Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad, a 26-year-old law student succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, after he was brutally assaulted outside an eatery on Friday night.

Dileep Saroj along-with his two friends had gone to a restaurant in the Karnalganj area, where they got into a scuffle with a group of men- who turned violent and mercilessly thrashed him.

The incident caught on CCTV shows the prime accused, now identified as Vijay Shankar Singh in an inebriated state- bludgeoning Dileep's motionless body.

Singh, who is a TTE working with the Indian Railways has been arrested, whereas a hunt has been launched to nab the other accused.

In addition, the restaurant owner Amit Upadhyay has also been arrested as he was familiar with the accused, Singh, and did not inform the police about the incident.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post mortem and an FIR has been filed against all the accused, a senior police official said.
