Chinese smartphone maker company Xiaomi is likely to organize an event on the occasion of Valentine Day this year where it would unveil the successor of Redmi Note 4 i.e. Redmi Note 5 in India. The handset will go exclusively on e-commerce platform Flipkart. Apart from it, Xiaomi could unveil the Redmi 5 Plus handset too.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 handset involves 5.7-inch IPS LCD display that comes with pixel resolution of 720×1440 and aspect ratio of 18:9. It supports Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and comes with 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB of inbuilt storage while Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus boasts 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen with pixel resolution of 1080×2160 with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone supports Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, involves 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage.

Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The cellphones involve 3300mAh and 4000mAh batteries. Other connectivity options involve GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, FM Radio, Wi-Fi Direct, IR port, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone port.
