Diabetic man jumps to death before Metro train

A 51-year-old man ended his life by jumping in front of the metro train at the Janakpuri Metro Station on Sunday evening.

Kanwarjeet Singh, the deceased, left behind a one-page suicide note in which he stated that he had diabetes and was tired of it.

“In one of the line, he said, “I don't want to be a burden to my family…” read the suicide note.

Confirming the suicide, Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) said, “We received a call around 5.40pm. The man, jumped in front of the Noida-bound metro train. By the time, he was taken to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to injuries.”

Police said that Kanwarjeet Singh was a resident of Tilak Nagar and is survived by his wife and two sons.

Police said that they have shifted the body to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital mortuary.
