After the formation of the BJP-JDU government in Bihar, the cultural organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has stepped up its efforts to strengthen and expand itself in the state.

Addressing the organisation workers at the RSS headquarters in Patna on Sunday, the RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat said that his regular visits in Bihar have caused an unease among the opposition who are spreading false rumors in this regard.

"Opposition leaders are saying that my visit to Bihar is linked with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019. They say that RSS is focusing on states where we are weak. However, this is not true.", said Mohan Bhagwat, RSS chief.

Bhagwat is on a 10-day visit to Bihar and stressed on the fact that his visits are connected to the exercise of strengthening and expanding of the organisation in the state.

However, RSS has stepped up its activities in Bihar after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked for a "Sangh-Mukt Bharat" during the 2015 assembly elections. Nitish's call for Sangh-Mukt Bharat was in response to PM Narendra Modi's pitching for Congress-Mukt Bharat during his campaign during 2014 Lok Sabha polls when he was BJP's PM candidate.

It may be mentioned that the opposition has been targeting Mohan Bhagwat's recent visits to Bihar asserting that RSS chief was gauging the ground realities and based on this, BJP would be giving just giving 3-4 seats to JDU to fight elections.

Several union ministers including Ram Kripal Yadav and Ashwini Choubey along with Bihar ministers joined the RSS program in Patna on Sunday.
