Stolen mobile phone recovered within 24 hours

Nainital police took action and managed to recover a lost mobile phone within 24 hours of a person lodging a complaint about the same on Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s mobile app.

According to police sources, Vinay Joshi, a resident of Shishmahal area in Haldwani had registered a complaint about loss of mobile phone at Kathgodam police station about a month ago. The local police seemed to not have acted swiftly after receiving the complaint and his mobile phone considering the lost item could not be traced a month after the complaint was lodged.

The complainant had reportedly approached the police station concerned several times but nothing concrete could be achieved by the police during that time period. Joshi became disappointed and registered a complaint on CM Trivendra Singh Rawat’s mobile app mentioning his lost mobile phone’s vital details on Feb 8. Nainital police took the issue seriously and recovered the mobile phone within 24 hours and handed it over to the complainant. He expressed thanks to the chief minister for getting the police to act efficiently enough to recover his lost mobile phone in 24 hours of the complaint being registered. Meanwhile, taking note of this, Nainital senior superintendent of police Janmejay Khanduri directed the police station officers to act swiftly on registered complaints. Complaints related to loss of mobile phone should be solved with the help of surveillance, he added
