Ujjain: Mahakaleshwar temple all set for Mahashivratri

Ujjain: The festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated at the Mahakaleshwar temple on Tuesday. The temple was decorated with beautiful lighting ahead of the festival of Mahashivratri.
Administrator of Mahakaleshwar temple management committee and additional collector Awadhesh Sharma convened a meeting regarding arrangements and directed officials in charge to complete their assignments as early as possible before the festival.
The MTMC will setup 7 ticket counters for chargeable special entries. These counters will be placed at Maharajwada premises, Harsiddhi road, Harsiddhi square, Chaardham Temple, Mahakal Dharmashala and Madhav Seva Nyas. Similarly Prasad counters, charity boxes and counters for ‘annakshetra’ will be placed for the facility of devotees. The meeting convened by MTMC was attended by SDO Kshitij Sharma, assistant administrator Preeti Chouhan, assistant administrator officer SP Dixit and Dilip Garud.
Ahead of the festival a mock drill of security staff and temple management staff was performed on Saturday under the guidance of home guard commandant Sumat Jain.
Lord Mahakal appears in Uma-Mahesh guise
On the seventh day of ‘Shiv-Navratri’, Lord Mahakal appeared in Uma-Mahesh ‘avatar’ on Sunday. On this occasion Lord Mahakal was adorned with a garland of fruits and crown. On Monday Lord Mahakal will be seen wearing the ‘Shiv Tandav’ look.
Administration changes parking and traffic management at Mahakaleshwar temple for Mahashivratri
The administration made some changes in the parking and traffic arrangement at the Mahakaleshwar Temple on account of Mahashivratri. The changes will be effective from Monday to Tuesday. Kot Mohalla to Mahakal Temple, Begum bag to Yadav Dharmashala, Harsiddhi to Bada-Ganesh, Choubees Khamba to Mahakal police station and Begumbag to Rudrasagar will be a no-vehicle zone from Monday to Tuesday.
Devotees can park their vehicles at Chaardham Mandir parking, Narsing-ghat road, Narsing ghat bridge and behind Madhav Seva Nyas. Danigate to Tankichowk and Teliwada route will be a one way.
