In Pic: Woman dragged by bike-borne youngsters while snatching her chain
In the first, Jayashree (57), a resident of Kambar Street at Raghavendra Nagar at Kundrathur, was walking with her husband Ashok Kumar (61) near her house, when a youth who came from behind snatched her five sovereign gold chain and ran away.
Even as Ashok Kumar and others chased him, he escaped along with his 'friend' who was waiting nearby on a two-wheeler. Jayashree, who fell down in the impact of chain snatching, sustained injury. Based on her complaint, the police are carrying out investigation. They have also obtained CCTV visuals from the scene of crime.
In the second incident, Menaka (45) of Old Washermenpet came to her relative's house at Arumbakkam. When she was walking on Thiruvalluvar Salai, two men on a bike snatched her chain. As Menaka fell down, they dragged her for a few metres before escaping with her chain. Police have obtained CCTV footage of this incident too.
