DJ dancer alleges gang rape in UP's Ballia district

VARANASI: A 30-year-old DJ dancer was allegedly raped by the DJ operator and his friend in Baansdih Road police station area of Ballia district on February 8.

An FIR was lodged in this connection on Sunday and police were investigating the matter.


According to reports, the dancer had gone to perform at a marriage function on the night of February 8 when the incident took place.


The dancer alleged that she was raped by two persons, including the DJ operator, who took her to his house on the night of February 8.


SP Ballia Anil Kumar told TOI over phone that on the complaint of the woman, a named FIR against DJ operator Devnath and Lallan has been lodged under sections 376 (rape) and 354 D (stalking) of IPC and SC/ST Act.


“The matter is being investigated by CO Baansdih Ashok Kumar Singh. The accused are absconding,” he added.
