Roksolana Chubenko, popularly known as Roxy, shot to fame when she was recently asked by Jacqueline Fernandez to train her in pole dancing for a Bollywood movie. Born and brought up in Ukraine, this pole dancer started training to dance at an early age and took up pole dancing as a hobby during her college days. She started to teach it while she was working in Milan as a make-up artist. Even after moving to Dubai and working in the hospitality sector, Roxy continued practising the dance form and taught pole dancing in a studio there.
Later on, it became her full-time profession. "I feel pole dancing is great for women, and for men who are interested as well. But mostly for women, because this community it is like a sisterhood for women, who are working towards the same goal and are connected by the same passion for pole dancing," says Roxy, who wants to start her own dance studio in Mumbai.
