Failing to rape a woman, a miscreant allegedly beat up her and her pother, leaving them injured in city's Turag area on Sunday night.

Local people rescued the injured and admitted them to Tongi Government Hospital.

The victim told the Daily Observer that she opened the door of her home as one Akkas Ali,40, knocked it in Ranabhola Hasan Market area at about 11am.

After entering into the house, Akkas tried to violate her. Hearing her screams, the victim's pother rushed in and tried to save her.

"But, at that time, Akkas's nephew Faiysal also came here and snatched away my gold chain. They both then severely beat up me and my pother," alleged the victim.

The victim also alleged that the accused are putting pressure on her to settle the issue as she lodged a complaint with Turag Police Station.

Confirming the matter, Turag police SI Abdul Motaleb said police visited the spot at night and trying to nab the accused.
