Mumbai, February 12: A traffic police constable was allegedly slapped by a 50-year-old man after the former slapped him while he was towing the man’s two-wheeler at Ulhasnagar on Sunday afternoon.

The accused, Jawahar Vasumal Lulla, was detained for questioning. A non-cognizable complaint has been registered against the Ulhasnagar resident at the Central police station, the Hindustan Times reported.

“Lulla had parked his Activa on the road side which was a no-parking zone. After giving a warning, Patil towed Lulla’s Activa.” As Patil towed the two-wheeler, Lulla held the door of the towing van. “The driver of the towing van drove the vehicle for a few metres. Lulla kept forcing Patil to release his Activa. Patil kept asking Lulla to pay fine and but Lulla was not in no mood to listen. After Patil stopped the towing van and got off, Patil slapped Lulla and in return Lulla slapped Patil,” said an inspector of the Central police station.

Deputy commissioner of police, zone 4, Ankit Goyal said: “We are looking in to the matter and we have also got the video which was taken by some passerby. We will take legal action against the culprit.”
