As many as 900 shooters from 11 frontiers of the Border Security Force would participate in the 48th Inter-Frontier Platoon Weapons Shooting Championship beginning in Indore tomorrow. The city-based Central School of Weapons and Tactics (CSWT) of BSF is organising this five-day event. CSWT's Inspector General (IG) BK Mehta told reporters today that the competition would be held under eleven categories. "These shooters will use different types of pistols and rifles along with mortars, light machine gun (LMG) and machine carbine.
These are the weapons used by the BSF against the enemy on the borders," he said. Mehta said the BSF personnel guarding borders would be able to increase their skills through this competition. Last year, BSF's Rajasthan Simant had secured the first place in the event.
