Upon conferment of the award, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu was feted by the Chief Minister recently while Langpoklakpam Subadani was excluded from the felicitation.

Speaking to newspersons at her Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai today, Subadani said that the Chief Minister lauded her and Mirabai Chanu on receiving the award.

She said that without her knowledge a felicitation ceremony was organised at the CM's Bungalow on January 27 wherein Mirabai Chanu was honoured by presenting a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh.

Subadani said that she felt happy for Mirabai Chanu on getting the cash reward but she expressed dismay over her exclusion from the felicitation.

She also questioned the Government why Mirabai Chanu who won a gold medal in sports three months back was not felicitated earlier.

She contended that her exclusion from the felicitation proves that the Government is showing partiality towards Padmashree awardees in the State.
