Domestic smartphone brand Karbonn has recently launched its Titanium Frames S7 for a pocket-friendly price of Rs 6,999. The main highlight of the Karbonn Titanium Frames S7 is, of course, its competitive price coupled with a decent spec-sheet. For starters, the Karbonn Titanium Frames S7 offers 13-megapixel cameras on both front and rear with LED Flash.
Apart from the spec-sheet, let’s take a look at the phone in detail to see whether the phone offers good value for money overall.
What’s Cool?
Karbonn Titanium Frames S7 gets good marks for its design, partly owing to its Black coloured finish. The device feels fairly smooth and premium. The smartphone showcases a metallic unibody design and the antenna lines running on top and bottom which makes the smartphone look fresh. The fingerprint sensor of the smartphone placed at the back of the smartphone with a golden ring around it. The response time of the fingerprint sensor is quite impressive.

The power button of the smartphone is placed at the right whereas the volume buttons are placed at the left--both are conveniently placed for single-handed operation. The Karbonn Titanium Frames S7 flaunts a 5.5-inch IPS LCD full-HD display that offers FULL HD screen resolution. The display of the device adds extra charm to the device, it’s quite bright indoors as well as outdoors. The device is powered by a 1.45 GHz quad-core processor and runs Android Nougat 7.0 operating system which delivers on the performance front. In terms of connectivity, the device offers a wide range of connectivity options like 4G, Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a microUSB.

The device supports two slots for SIMs (nano+micro) which makes it easy to operate different SIM cards type. The phone boxes 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to an additional 128GB via a microSD card. The phone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which renders decent hours of backup. The speakers on Titanium Frames S7 are placed below the screen and must say they deliver perfect sound quality. Talking about its camera, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear camera and there’s a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video chat. Both the cameras are placed at an appropriate position and make the device look young.
The camera quality of the device is further boosted by some of its extra features like beauty effects and portrait mode. The picture quality of the main camera is decent and perform its best during the daytime. At the same time, the front camera might surprise you with its picture quality, no doubt it might be the best one in this price segment smartphone.
What’s not so cool?
The 13-megapixel main camera does perform better during daytime but it fails to deliver the same quality in absence of proper lighting conditions while there are other smartphones like Moto C Plus or Redmi 4A, they both produce better picture. Apart from the camera, the biggest drawback of the smartphone is its 3,000mAh which is doesn’t last long. The battery fails in delivering a day’s backup while using the internet. Another major disappointment of the device is the earphones that come with the phone are not up to the mark and it is completely uncomfortable to use them. Having said that you really can’t complain much about free earphones as most brands have stopped offering them long time back.

Verdict
The Karbonn Titanium Frames S7 is an power-packed device which unexpectedly carries a budget-friendly price tag. The performance of the device is far better than other Karbonn smartphones. Both the cameras carry LED flash as the major highlight of the device, which ensures presentable photos especially selfies. The fingerprint sensor works well too. But the main concern here is that it will find it difficult to attract buyers as big players like Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo and Vivo have already made a huge mark in the budget segment.
