Unidentified persons hacked to death a 35-year-old man Bangi Madhu with hunting sickles after sprinkling chilli powder in his eyes near Vanadingeru Circle in Peapully town of Kurnool district on Saturday night.
Madhu was returning home from Venkata Reddy tirunallu in the village when he was fatally attacked due to previous enmity. He was rushed to the government hospital at Dhone, where doctors declared him brought dead. Madhu was an accused in the case of murder of Lakshmirangaiah in 2009 and the court acquitted him two months ago, police said.
Dhone DSP Baba Fakruddin and Peapully Sub-Inspector Peeraiah inspected the place of murder. Peapully police registered a case against Pandurangadu and Suri, relatives of Lakshmirangaiah, and nine others.
