MP Prathap Simha gave assurance that the railway project to Talassery via Kodagu will not be implemented and asked the people in the district to not panic.
He was speaking after inaugurating the asphalting work at Gonikoppa Road on Monday. "I have already appealed to the Union railway minister to not approve the project. A few people are misleading others about the project. Without the approval from the state government, no project can be implemented in the state."
MLA K G Bopaiah and Appacchu Ranjan said that the main road in Gonikoppa will be asphalted using the money sanctioned by the Central Road Fund.
He said that Rs 28 crore has been released for Hunsur-Talacauvery National Highway. Rs 6 crore has been released for the development of Ammathi, Gonikoppa road.
The MP also inaugurated the work on Thithimathi-Balumani bridge.
