8 killed as jeep overturns in Jharkhand’s Dumka

The vehicle overturned near Lagla village of Dumka as the driver lost control.

At least eight died and two sustained critical injuries on Monday morning after a vehicle loaded with newspapers overturned in Jharkhand’s Dumka-Bhagalpur road, around 300km from state capital Ranchi, police said.

The commander jeep, coming from Bhagalpur district of Bihar, overturned near Lagla village of Dumka as the driver lost control, an official from Jama police station told IANS.

“The driver and around seven staff on duty to circulate newspaper died. The two injured have been sent to Sadar Hospital,” said Sanjay Kumar Malvi, officer in-charge of Jama police station.
