With the first round of fashion weeks having been recently completed for the season, I think it’s safe to say we’re officially done with the winter trends for the moment. While I’m very open about my love for all things spring summer (my newest spring look book went live just yesterday!), I think over a period of time, I’ve learnt to weigh my love out between the two. With the look I’m sharing with you today, I’ve aimed to do just that: mixing up a summery vibe with tones that would do well across transitional seasons. Think bright, beautiful and 100% blend-able across seasons. My personal favourite about today’s outfit is how it has a mixed vibe too, between Indian and modern.
Picking colours from the families of rust is something I have been sharing with you on my YouTube channel these days. My love for deeper tones, also including shades like deep purple, emerald greens have been coming to the surface very naturally for me. While putting together this look, that was initially leaning towards the more desi side of me, I chose to mix the bag a little. Instead of opting for a pair of pencil pants that would ‘match’ the outfit a little more, I chose a salmon pink pair of palazzos that I bought from Thailand a few months ago. This semi-pleated pair of wide legs didn’t just add an element of modern to an otherwise ethnic look, but it also helped by way of building on to the volume. Personally, I also liked the fact that the aqua blue tinge popped out so well through the look that’s monochrome as a whole. Look closely, and you’ll find similar salmon shades in the nature inspired, floral motifs that dominate the high-slit kurta, making all the details come together beautifully.
