SUNDERBANI: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised Punjabi Mushaira at Harsh Niketan Higher Secondary School Sunderbani. The Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Sunderbani Kartar Singh was Chief Guest while a renowned poet Mohan Singh Mastana Presided the literally bonanza.
About 15 poets drawn from Poonch, Rajouri , Nowshera, Sunderbani and Jammu participated and recited their Punjabi poetry which was highly enjoyed and appreciated by the audience including senior citizens and students in the jam packed auditorium of the school.
Popinder Singh the Chief Editor of Academies Punjabi section while addressing said that during past academy had organised several multi-language Mushairas in this border district in order to accommodate and flourish all the languages spoken in the area.
In his address, SDM appreciated the role of Cultural Academy for its all out efforts to develop art, culture and languages through such programmes.
The poets who recited the poetry include K.K Khaki, M.R Sharma, Gurcharan Singh Gulshan, M.S Mastana, Nidhi Sharma, Navjot Kour, Joginder Sharma , Neeru Sharma, Sumeet Sudan , Sanjeev Khajuria, Gurjeet Singh, Jaspal Singh , Jung S. Verman and Amarjeet Sharma. A senior Punjabi Poet K.K Khaki compered the proceedings while a vote of thanks was presented by S.P Suri Chairman Harsh Niketan Higher secondary School.
