New Delhi, February 10 2018: In its ninth day in Kalagram, The Aadi Mahotsav (Tribal Festival) presented a range of tribal dances, throbbing folk dances of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and musical performances incorporated even with the Bhangra.

While hand made products like hand-knitted socks, sweaters, gloves and designer jackets, pashmina shawls and silk sarees, saw a good number of interested buyers, dry fruits and a variety of organic condiments, soaps, creams, designer tribal jewelry, also found interested shoppers.

Besides the cultural fest, the Mahotsav also had an interesting range of pottery on sale.

Wungshungmi Shangrei, from Longpi Kajui Chingai village under Ukhrul district of Manipur, who has put up a stall here, shares that the Longpi and black stone pottery is a special kind of pottery that has its own grace and utility.

This is specially sculpted out of special black stone found in Longpi village in Manipur only and at no other place in the State.

As many as 30 per cent of the people of the village are engaged in this pottery trade, he informed.
