Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed on Saturday that both the state and Union governments were committed to ensuring the rights of the poor so that no one was denied a dignified life in the country. Yogi said this after unveiling the statue of Jan Sangh founder Deendayal Upadhyaya in Lucknow on Saturday morning.
“This is the Prime Minister’s commitment that when India celebrates 75 years of independence in 2022, the country should be free from garbage and corruption and everyone should have his own house, toilet etc,” said Yogi.
The Chief Minister said that both governments wanted to make India a strong, capable and self-reliant nation where there was no place for caste, religion, terrorism, dynasty etc.
Yogi said that the policies of the government were not based on politics but for people’s welfare and this was what the Central government has done by opening 30 crore Jan-Dhan accounts enabling everyone to have a bank account.
The CM claimed that by introducing digital payments, use of black money and corruption have been controlled and at the same time it had safeguarded the interest of the poor.
After presenting cheques to Women Self-Help Groups and keys to the houses to the poor, Yogi said that women empowerment was very necessary in the country as until they were made strong, the country could not progress.
The CM said that if all 60000 Self-Help Groups active in the state were trained to make woman self-reliant, then it would set a big example before the world for women empowerment.
He informed that a record of 8.85 lakh houses were distributed to the poor in the state under Prime Minister Awas Yojna.
The Chief Minister said that the state was lucky to have all kind of resources and was leading in the field of agriculture, dairy, sugarcane, animal husbandry etc. “If every citizen worked as per examples set by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhya, then the state would start a revolution on development,” he said.
Yogi also reminded that Pandit Deel Daya Upadhya Rural Development Institute came into existence in 1991 but it was an irony that the statue of the leader could not be installed in all these years and his government was proud to have done the job. Speaker and chiefguest of the function, Hirday Narain Dikshit said that Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhya always emphasized on people’s welfare and now the government was following the path shown by the leader. He said that both the Central and state governments were committed to achieving the dreams of Upadhya of making India a progressive nation.
Hailing the efforts of Yogi Adityanath, Dikshit said that the Chief Minister was working hard to forward all welfare schemes to the poor and hoped that soon every citizen in the state would have the basic amenities of life.
