In his entire speech on Saturday at Hosapete in Ballari district in Karnataka, Congress president Rahul Gandhi compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and took a dig at Prime Minister for his failures, saying that PM failed because he was driving looking in the rear-view mirror.
“When Siddaramaiah drives the car of Karnataka, he looks in the forward direction. When there’s a car approaching, he sees it. Modiji, instead, looks in the rear-view mirror when he drives a car. He looks in the rear-view mirror the entire day. When there’s a pothole, the car meets with an accident. Modiji, you have to look forward, not backward,” he said.
“The country has not elected you to have excuses, or to look in the rear-view mirror. Because when you look into rear-view mirror, you make mistakes like GST and demonetisation. When you look into it, you give 'Gabbar Singh Tax' to the nation," Gandhi added.
Rahul Gandhi in his first pre election speech in poll bound Karnataka chose to kick start from Ballari district where the congress ruled over five decades. Congress President is in Karnataka touring five districts of Hyderabad – Karnataka region from Saturday and also repeating Gujarat model of soft Hindutva visiting many temples, Dhargha and Gurdwara. It is his first visit to Karnataka after he became the president in December and Karnataka assembly elections have become a test bed for his leadership. Later he also visited revered Hulegemma temple the town deity at Hosapete.
Gandhi said “Tata Nano project in Gujarat got 33000 crores. Modi Ji gave 1000 acres of land water and electricity. But not a single car is manufactured there. In the whole country you don’t find a nano. But the amount Modiji gave it to one project the congress in UPA rule gave it to Mnrega.” “ I went to Gujarat and saw the reality. Modi Ji said he has transformed Gujarat. Going there and looked at ground reality the state has changed because of farmers, small traders and workers,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi said addressing a major rally "The country is facing issues related to unemployment, farmers' issues, adivasis, Dalit issues. People in big cities face other issues. But in his entire speech, Narendra Modi did not speak of the coming future. He did not speak on providing employment, helping out the farmers."
“PM Modi’s words are empty, he does not fulfill his promises. Today the biggest corruption scam is Rafael deal. Modi Ji He went to Paris and changed the contract snatching it from HAL Bengaluru denying hundreds of job opportunities here. But he gave this deal to his friend. What is the price of the contract is it more or less,” Rahul Gandhi said attacking Modi.
