Kuwait hosting of KICRI manifests its devotion to Arab causes - Jordanian official

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait hosting of International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI) is yet another manifestation of its devotion to Arab causes, State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesman, Mohammad Al-Momani said Sunday.

His remarks to KUNA came on the occasion of Jordan taking part in KICRI, slated to kick off tomorrow (Monday) until February 14 amidst vast regional and international participation.

Praising the sponsorship of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of the Conference, Al-Momani said that King Abdullah II of Jordan had received last month an official invitation to attend KICRI from special envoy of the Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi.

He also underlined Jordan's ability to chip in reconstruction efforts in Iraq through forging partnerships, as well as relying on the Hashemite Kingdom's competitiveness-based economy.

KICRI will see the participation of a number of contributing countries, international and regional organizations. It will be chaired by five parties; Kuwait, Iraq, the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank. (end) mjb.hb
