He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party can not gain foothold in Tamil Nadu, no matter how hard it strives to acheve it. "BJP can not grow in this state," he said.
Vijayakanth further said that NEET, the national entrance test for admission in medical courses, is good since students from poor economical background can not pay huge money to get medical seats. "They can't pay lakhs of rupees to enrol themselves in medical colleges," he added.
Recently, days after the Tamil Nadu government increased bus fares, Vijayakanth took a bus ride in the city to meet people and to listen to their grievances.
The 'Captain', as he is called by his supporters, got into a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus at Alandur and travelled up to Pallavaram, a distance of almost 10 kilometres.
