Dimapur, February 10 2018:
JD(U) has come out in support of the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation's demand for a separate State, Frontier Nagaland.
A statement from JD (U) secretary general and spokesperson, KC Tyagi said that although this could not be included in the party's manifesto released on February 8, it would become an addition to the already released memo.
Tyagi sought to assure "all the people…within the ambit of ENPO", that JD (U) is sincerely committed to support their demand for Statehood.
JD (U) is of the view that ENPO's demand was justified considering their geographical location and developmental disparity.
Pointing to how Jharkhand, previously a part of Bihar, was granted Statehood under JD (U), Tyagi said this approach was not politically motivated but based on genuine considerations and to fulfil the party's theme of "Development With Justice" .
