A Dhaka court on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to give a division status to jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as per the jail code.
The special judge court-5 passed the order at about 11:15am after hearing a petition.
Earlier in the morning, Khaleda's counsels Barrister Zakir Hussain Bhuyian and advocate Aminul Islam filed the petition seeking a division for her.
On February 8, the same court convicted Khaleda Zia and sentenced her to five years' rigorous imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
Later, she was taken to the old central jail at at Nazimuddin Road.
