Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Sunday asked the TDP government to initiate steps to implement reservations for the community without further delay.
Addressing a meeting at Palamaner, Mr. Padmanabham said the Kapus could succeed in making the government pass the Bill, which had obtained the Governor’s nod too.
“We had fought relentlessly for the reservations. The government should not give us a chance to fight again for its implementation. After March 31, the agitation would be intensified,” he said.
Mr. Padmanabham observed that the government and some social groups had taken the Kapus for granted because there was no unity among them for many years.
Unity
“I am happy to witness unity and coordination among the Kapus now,” he said.
Earlier, at Punganur, Mr. Padmanabham garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar and addressed a gathering, where he said he was ready to sacrifice his life for the cause of the community. Later, he addressed an ‘atmeeya sadassu’ at Chittoor before proceeding to Srikalahasti.
