Renowned human rights champion Asma Jahangir dies at 66 in Lahore

Eminent Pakistan lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir died today due to cardiac arrest in Lahore.

The 66-year-old lawyer was rushed to a hospital after her health deteriorated suddenly today.

According to reports, the lawyer-activist had been battling cancer for years now.

Jahangir was widely known for playing a prominent role in the Lawyers' Movement and co-founding the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
