BJP going all out to induct Bharati Ghosh, get Trinamool secrets

The logic of the BJP leaders is to give the former IPS officer a political platform to reveal “uncomfortable” secrets, just as former Trinamool general secretary and now-BJP leader, Mukul Roy is doing.

Realizing that former controversial IPS officer, Bharati Ghsoh, once a confidante of Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, has many “uncomfortable” secrets about Trinamool Congress hidden in her locker, the Bengal unit of BJP is now going all out to convince Ghosh to join the saffron camp.

The logic of the BJP leaders is to give the former IPS officer a political platform to reveal these “uncomfortable” secrets, just as former Trinamool general secretary and now-BJP leader, Mukul Roy is doing.

When contacted BJP’s national secretary, Rahul Sinha said it is nothing new that Trinamool utilises an individual to the ultimate extent and just dumps that individual when the purpose is served. “I am sure that Bahratai Ghosh is realising that now. So, if she is willing to join BJP, our doors are open,” Sinha said.

Sinha’s statements comes just 24 hours after the criminal investigation department (CID), West Bengal, has issued arrest warrant against Ghosh and sent CID teams to different states to arrest her. Raids at the residences of Ghosh, her close aids and relatives were done till February 10 and several crucial documents seized.

Ghosh, however, has released an audio- statement through WhatsApp and claimed that all the documents related to her property that were sized by CID sleuths are legal and also mentioned in the income tax returns.

Another state BJP leader, requesting anonymity, said if Ghosh, who is privy to several secrets of Trinamool Congress and has supporting documents, joins BJP, the situation will become extremely uncomfortable for Bengal’s ruling party.

“That is exactly why the state government is so active in nabbing Ghosh, who once addressed chief minister as the mother of Junglemahal. But we are keeping a close watch on the situation and updating our national leadership of the day-to-day developments,” he said.

Bharati Ghosh resigned from service on December 28 after she was removed as superintendent of West Midanpore district and transferred to a lesser significant post of state armed police battalion commandant.

Soon after that state BJP president, Dilip Ghosh had hinted at the possibility of the former IPS officer joining the party.

“If she expresses desire to join BJP, we will seriously think about it and discuss the matter with our national leadership,” he had said.
