People Action Committee (PAC) against the brutal killing of Pravish Chanam at Greater Noida organised a people's convention on CBI inquiry for Pravish Chanam and the victim of racial discrimination at Manipur Press Club here today.
The convention was organised in association with AMSU, MSF, DESAM, SUK, KSA, NEFIS, YFPHR, KIL, WASEDEV, AMKIL, PLMPAM, KWWA and IKAL.
Addressing the gathering, PAC convenor Ahongshabam Phollen said that it is high time to face the racial discrimination meted out to the people of North East region mainly Manipur in mainland India.
He said that various forms of protest have been staged against the rampant racial discrimination but to no avail.
He pledged to launch different forms of movement till justice over the youth's killing is delivered.

He said that the committee has been demanding a CBI probe into the killing and acting on the demand Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had assured that the killing case would be handed over to CBI.
The people's convention after having a threadbare discussion unanimously adopted certain resolutions with regard to the killing.
It resolved to continue staging different modes of agitation till the case is handed over to CBI and launch a sustained movement for enactment of an anti-discrimination Bill.
It also resolved to demand the authority concerned to construct a memorial park in remembrance of the victims of racial discrimination.
The convention decided to launch a joint movement against racial discrimination in mainland India in unison with North East people who are the victims of racism.
Along with deciding to submit a memorandum to the Committee on Elimination of Racial Discrimination, UN, the gathering further resolved to identify the victims of racial discrimination, residing in the hill areas.
