An interactive session for existing vendors was organised by Materials Management group of SCR division BHEL Bhopal on Saturday.
About 40 representatives from almost 25 companies participated in the event. BHELs business model, alongwith the need for a strong vendor base was discussed with vendors by Material Management group of SCR division. It was emphasized that in order to address the competitive environment faced by the group, vendors were required to adhere to quality, delivery, performance and flexibility to meet changed requirements and services after sales.
BHEL’s commitment to encourage MSE vendors (Micro Small Enterprises), give fillip to Make in India, Digital India drive and thrust on e-procurement was discussed.
The vendor meet Synergy– 2018 had major paradigm shift this year in the way that BHEL’s thrust was to listen to the business partners and make itself aware of the good practices of their stakeholders. Further, the forum was utilised for cross pollination of ideas among the vendors and getting across their areas of concern horizontally and vertically.
The session was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, DK Thakur, Executive Director. To give our ED company, present at the occasion were Kuldip Mathur, GM (SCR), Padma Padmanabhan GM (Finance), MS Kinra GM (Quality & HR) and Vipin Minocha GM (MM & Logistics), all AGMs of SCR Division, other colleagues of various functions of SCR Division and our esteemed vendors. Convener of the session Shubhra Chaturvedi, AGM MM SCR, delivered the welcome address.
GM SCR highlighted the importance of the contribution of vendors in bringing delight to customers by giving timely good quality products. GM (MM) highlighted BHEL Management’s commitment for transparency in its operations.
